9AM update
We’re driving through the Mojave Desert right now. Outside, it’s incredibly windy and cool, but inside the car, we’re starting to heat up thanks to the sun beating down on us. We just changed into shorts and t-shirts to keep from having to turn up the AC and put on some sunscreen.
The most interesting part about this part of the country is all the tiny houses/shacks/trailers that dot the landscape. It’s hard to imagine living out here like that, but many people clearly do.
We stopped for a quick splash and go and calculated that we’re getting about 25 miles per gallon. So far, so good.
