As noted yesterday, we sort of stumbled into our accomdations last night.
Our first floor room was clean and adequately furnished. Besides the standard television with a nice selection of cable channels, it also boasted a microwave and mini-fridge with freezer section. The wireless Internet was easy to access and sufficiently speedy.
The bathroom featured an innovative curved shower rod that extrended out past the bathtub boundary to provide a bit more elbow room for those taking a shower. Quite courteous. In addition, the slot for tissues was just outside the bathroom, rather than being integrated into the bathroom counter, a welcome change for those of us who need to blow our nose while our travel partner is using the facilities, if you know what I mean.
As for the morning breakfast, which is often disappointing at these types of establishments, it was a welcome surprise. Scrambled eggs, sausage links, hashbrowns, powdered donuts, bagels, sausage gravy were all on the menu, and were all of above average quality. As if that wasn’t enough, the spread also included a do-it-yourself waffle bar.this earned big points with Amanda, as she is a big fan of the waffle as a breakfast food.
Conclusion: for $65, we were quite pleased with the quality of lodging offered at the Howard Johnson Oklahoma City and would give it three stars out of four. We feel comfortable recommend it to anyone traveling through central Oklahoma.
